ALBANY ALBANY, Ga. — Liz Gray, sales and public relations manager and one of the top officials with Albany’s Convention and Visitors Bureau, has resigned her position to take one in leadership within the hospitality industry in Albany, she says.
Gray submitted her resignation by phone Friday with Catherine Glover, the president of the Albany-Area Chamber of Commerce and the Albany CVB, and said that when the opportunity for change presented itself, she took it.
“I have enjoyed my 4 1/2 years as sales manager and public relations director for the CVB, but at the current time, with all of the changes going on, I feel like the best move for me is to leave and take this other position,” Gray said.
Gray’s resignation will be effective two weeks from Friday or sooner.
Gray’s decision to leave comes after a recent shakeup at the bureau.
Lisa Riddle, the longtime director of the CVB, was terminated from the position Sept. 9. Glover handled the duty until Oct. 11, when Rashelle Beasley, the former Welcome Center Manager, was promoted to interim manager for the CVB.

Glover's head should roll, and that will finally put the CVB issue to bed.

Great News? You obviously have lost your mind!!! This is a HUGE loss for Albany & you should be ashamed of yourself posting such comments. You will never find someone as dedicated as she is. Who else would go out & wear a turtle costume wearing it proudly to get people to visit Albany? This whole deal is a big mess for Albany & really makes us look bad...what a disaster Glover has created!!!
