ALBANY -- Charles VanDuzee, Jr., 71, of Albany died Sunday, October 23, 2011 at his residence. The rosary will be held Thursday, October 27, 2011 at 6:00PM at Kimbrell-Stern with visitation to follow. The funeral service will be held Friday, October 28, 2011 at 10:00AM at St. Teresa's Catholic Church. Rev. Finbarr Stanton will officiate. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
Mr. VanDuzee was born on December 8, 1939 to the late Charles William VanDuzee, Sr. and Jesssie Lashley. He was of the Catholic faith and a member of St. Teresa's Catholic Church. Charles had been an active member of Albany's senior community for many years. He enjoyed events and outings organized by St. Teresa's Catholic Friends, Palmyra's H2U, AARP and Phoebe's Golden Key Groups. He and Kenyon joined friends each week for St. Teresa's School bingo nights. Charles also supported St. Clare's Soup Kitchen.
Mr. VanDuzee is survived by his wife Kenyon Watson VanDuzee of Albany, GA. his mother: Jessie L. Cone of Albany, GA., a daughter: Joye Girardot of Atlanta, GA., a son: Thomas Cline and his wife Indah of Norman, OK, a brother: Jesse Cone and his wife Cheryl of Atlanta, GA. Two grandchildren: Aaron Girardot and Rebecca Cline also survive. He was preceded in death by his sister Ellen Belle Cone and his father Willaim VanDuzee, Sr.
