GISA names All-State, All-Region softball teams

On Wednesday, GISA released its 2011 All-Region and All-State Softball Teams.

Ten Southwest Georgia players were named to their respective All-State Teams, while 27 were named to their respective All-Region teams.

Class AAA All-State players are Anna Lane Brock of Sherwood and Alex Lindsey of Southland.

Class AAA All-Region players are Ashley Smith, Lindsey, Bree Harpe, Hannah McCain, Rylee Palmer and Dallas NeSmith of Southland; Sabrina Curry and Chandler Harris of Deerfield; and Kristina McNutt, Brock and Payton Couch of Sherwood.

Class AA All-State players are Bailey Ponder, Baylee Everson and Jenna Kitchens of Southwest Georgia Academy.

Class AA All-Region players are Ponder, Everson, Kitchens, Addison Ponder and Kyndal Carver of SGA; and Lauren Barfield, Brittany Spilman and Maura Milliron of Terrell Academy.

Class A All-State players are Krysten Johnson, Miller Singleton and Claire Collins of Westwood; and Madison Ragan and Alana McCook of Randolph Southern.

Class A All-Region players are Sage Sandefur, Hope Bailey, Collins, Johnson and Singleton of Westwood; and Brittany Holbrook, Ragan and McCook of Randolph Southern.
