ALBANY, Ga. — Darton College Director of Communications and Philanthropy Krista Robitz is leaving the school to take a position with Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick.
Friday is Robitz’s last day at Darton. She will begin her new position in Brunswick on Nov. 1.
“My decision to leave Darton College has been a huge emotional roller coaster for me,” Robitz, who has been with the school for five years, said Wednesday. “I love Darton. Albany is home, and I have enjoyed an amazing five years here.
“Dr. Peter Sireno (Darton President) and Dr. Gary Barnette (Vice President for Academics and Student Affairs) and the entire Darton team are my family. I believe with all of my heart that Darton College is one of the most essential ingredients for improving this community.”
Before moving back home and accepting the Darton position, Robitz worked in health care in Savannah.
“I have been offered a tremendous opportunity in Brunswick,” she said. “The career growth and opportunities in health care are thriving.”
