APD investigates aggressive driving, assault case

ALBANY, Ga. — Two males became victims of an aggravated assault and aggressive driving incident that took place over the weekend.

At around 9 p.m. Saturday, Jakoria Hicks, 20, and Ronnie Jackson Jr.,

13, were traveling northbound on South Westover Boulevard from West Gordon Avenue. At the 400 block of Westover,

an unknown black male drove up

behind them in a gray Pontiac, possibly

a Grand Am.

When Hicks did not pull over to let the suspect car pass, the suspect pulled up beside him, the APD said. The black male driver and Hicks exchanged words, and then the suspect pulled out a gun, which appeared to be a Glock.

When Hicks saw the gun, he tried to speed away from the suspect vehicle. The suspect then shot at the victim’s car, striking the rear passenger quarter panel and the rear window.

The bullet went through the car and struck Hicks on the right shoulder, grazing him, and then struck the windshield on the driver’s side.

A lookout has been placed for the suspect and the vehicle.

Another reason to realize your mouth can overload your butt. Remember the Police can't be everywhere. Best to do everything you can to avoid a confrontation of this sort. If you think your own gun would be an answer, I hope you have a good Lawyer on Speed Dial, and call the Police before you return fire as it will be a He said, She Said situation.

Most likely the shooter will wind up involved in a robbery or some other crime and perhaps then will be caught and put away. If it is in fact road rage, as it is reported, there is little the police can be expected to do to prevent it.

I see this happen a lot. I'm talking about rude drivers who intentially drive slow to keep another person from getting by. I'm thinking, one of these days they are going to meet up with the wrong person and this time the driver did meet up with the wrong person. People need to realize that there are a lot of crazy people out there, and you need to be careful who you p*** off. You never know, you could be the next victim. You might think you are being cute for agitating a driver, but the person getting hurt could be yourself.
