Albany teen dies in wreck (Updated 8:35 a.m. WEDNESDAY)

A third person has died as the result of a traffic crash that left two dead at the scene Monday evening.

The Florida Highway Patrol on Tuesday released the names of all parties involved.

The three people fatally injured were occupants of a southbound car that swerved into the path of a northbound Jackson County ambulance to crash on State Road 71. All were listed as residents of Albany, Ga.

The head-on collision occurred around 5:35 p.m. near Redwood Drive north of Marianna.

Driver Jevontay Q. Jordan, 19, and passenger Johnathan A. Newberry died at the scene of the crash. Passenger Rocquell R. Greene, 20, died around 9:45 a.m. Tuesday while receiving treatment at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, Ala.

Another passenger in the car, 23-year-old Shelton B. Greene, was listed as seriously injured.

Two ambulance personnel were taken to an area hospital for treatment of injuries. Those individuals were identified as 20-year-old Charles B. Kirkland, the driver of the ambulance, and 39-year-old Candy R. Gehron. They were listed as being seriously hurt but their injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.

One of them was a native of Albany.

The head-on crash occurred at around 5:35 p.m. Monday near Redwood Drive north of Marianna, the Jackson County Floridan was told by authorities.

A car traveling in front of the ambulance was able to dart out of the way before a white Toyota Camry collided with the ambulance. The ambulance came to rest on its side and had apparently rolled over.

Two ambulance personnel and two individuals from the car were taken to an area hospital for treatment of their injuries. The ambulance crew members were alert and responsive as they were being transported and their injuries were not thought to be life-threatening, the Floridan reported.

One of the deceased was Jevontay Jordan, 19, who was in the Camry. Jordan was traveling from Albany to Florida after visiting family during the Labor Day weekend.

Meadows Funeral Home is handling the arrangements for Jordan.
