APD responds to aggravated assault

ALBANY -- The Albany Police Department responded to an aggravated assault on Radium Springs Road Tuesday evening.

At 9:15 p.m., officers were called to the 1400 block of Radium Springs Road. There, 41-year-old Coray Leon Jones reported that he had been attacked by a group of men possessing a gun.

"The victim stated he was walking in the 1400 block of Radium Springs Road when three unknown black males on bicycles came up behind him," APD spokeswoman, Phyllis Banks, said. "The victim stated one of the unknown males rode up next to him and pointed a handgun at him and demanded money. The victim stated he ran away from the males and made his way to a pay phone to call the police."

No arrests had been made in connection to the case by Wednesday afternoon. The report did not indicate that Jones was hurt in the incident, and nothing was taken from him.

There were no suspect descriptions available other than there were three black males on bikes, Banks said.
