ASU men's and women's cross country coach Edward Taylor and his teams are preparing for their second meet of the season, and first at home, on Saturday.
ALBANY -- The Albany State University men's and women's cross country teams will host their first meet of the season this weekend.
The annual ASU Cross Country Invitational will be held Saturday with the women's 5K run slated to start at 10 a.m., while the men's 8K run will begin at 10:40 a.m. at Legacy Park at Sherwood Christian High School.
In addition to the Rams teams, several teams from the region, including Florida A&M University and Morehouse College, will participate.
ASU head cross country coach Ken Taylor said he has expectations for a strong meet from his teams, especially the women, who are the defending SIAC Champions.
"This is our second meet of the season, and we are expecting to see a good performance from our teams," Taylor said.
Next up after this weekend, the ASU teams will participate in Darton College's Cavalier Classic on Sept. 17 and the Morehouse College Invite on Sept. 24. The ASU women will defend their championship title in November at the annual SIAC Championships.
