SGA 10, Terrell Academy 2 (6): Bailey Ponder grabs most of the headlines for SGA's softball team, but the Lady Warriors have a sensational eighth-grader who is ripping the ball this season.

SGA coach Tommy Manry says Baylee Everson is one of the best eighth-graders he has ever seen.

"She was hitting .638 before Thursday,'' Manry said.

Then Everson went 3-for-3 with a single, a double and a triple, stole three bases, and drove in two runs.

Manry said Ponder (7-2) "wasn't feeling well," but she still picked up the win in six innings, giving up six hits and walking one. She had just one strikeout.

Haylee Chappell had two hits, including a double, and drove in two runs to help SGA, which is now 9-2 and 4-1 in GISA Region 2-AA. TAE was led by Britany Spilman, who singled, doubled and drove in a run.

SGA plays a doubleheader in Macon against Windsor Academy, beginning at noon on Saturday.
