After starting the season 11-0, the South Georgia Noles lose their second-round playoff game Saturday to the Henry County Horsemen.
The South Georgia Noles' improbable run in their inaugural season is now over.
The Noles lost their first game of the season to the Henry County (Ga.) Horsemen on Saturday in the second round of the Gridiron Developmental Football League playoffs.
The Albany-based semipro football team made up of dozens of area former high school and college players finished the season 11-1.
"The season was something good to build on," Noles coach Ivory Williams said. "To go into your first season and win your conference and go 10-0, a lot of players were proud to say this is the first team they have played on that's gone 10-0."
Quarterback Marcus Brooks gave the Noles an early 7-0 lead with a 40-yard touchdown pass to Albany native Lamontray Williams, but then Brooks and the Noles offense started to struggle.
Brooks threw three interceptions and the Noles had two punts blocks, helping the undefeated Horsemen overtake the Noles.
South Georgia's final two touchdowns were touchdown passes from former Albany State Ram Kisan Flakes to Albany natives Dontarrius Thomas and Rashard Hunt.
