Quite frankly, I can not imagine some highly educated person choosing to spend an educator time in workshops at a time when they should be educating our "thinkers" of tomorrow; have we lost our common sense?
Somehow I fail to see the logic in all this. They have furlough days because they can't afford to pay the Teachers. Yet there is time to pull Teachers out of the classroom for a workshop. So the students are losing on both ends aren't they?
Quite frankly, do you realize that teachers are required to attend these "continuing education" classes in order to keep their certification? And as for going over the summer, how many workshops do you attend for your job while you are on vacation?
