ALBANY After two weeks of football, some of the local high school athletes are starting to standout on the gridiron. Here are your four choices for the Albany Herald High School Football Player of the Week for week 3. Voters are allowed to cast one vote per hour from the same computer. Login is required.
CHRIS BROWN
POSITION: Running back
SCHOOL/YEAR: Seminole County; Senior
WHY HE'S HERE: Rushed for 133 yards and scored four touchdowns in Seminole's 33-13 victory against Early County.
CHARLES STAFFORD
POSITION: Quarterback
SCHOOL/YEAR: Monroe; Sophomore
WHY HE'S HERE: Completed 17 of 36 passes for 234 yards and two touchdowns and led a last-minute drive to within six-inches of the goal line in a 14-13 loss to Albany High.
JOSH CABRERA
POSITION: Receiver
SCHOOL/YEAR: Lee County High; Sophomore
WHY HE'S HERE: Made nine receptions for 113 yards and scored two touchdowns to help Lee County beat Terrell County, 42-6.
TERRY LEWIS
POSITION: Runningback
SCHOOL/YEAR: Bainbridge High; Senior
WHY HE'S HERE: Rushed for 255 yards on 32 carries and scored two touchdowns in Bainbridge's 23-20 triple overtime win against Westover.
