ALBANY -- Albany Police Department Capt. Reginald Brown, 45, was in good condition Tuesday after suffering injuries in a car crash earlier in the day, said a Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital spokeswoman.
According to police reports, Brown was driving an unmarked blue Ford Crown Victoria westbound on the 2300 block of Gillionville Road at 3:07 p.m. Tuesday when a green Ford Mustang crashed into his police car.
Denorris Edwards, 25, was driving a Mustang on Dalewood Drive, ignored a stop sign and crashed into Brown's car, said Phyllis Banks, APD spokeswoman.
Edwards and two passengers fled the scene, but Edwards was later arrested and charged with multiple offenses, she said. The charges filed against Edwards include failure to yield at a stop sign, leaving the scene of an accident and failure to report an accident.
