ALBANY, Ga. — After pleading guilty to receiving child pornography, a man was sentenced by a U.S. District Court judge to 10 years in prison and a lifetime under supervision.
Thomas N. Traxler was sentenced by Judge W. Louis Sands on Wednesday, according to court documents. Traxler was handed over to a U.S. marshal’s custody for transport to prison the same day.
Traxler’s address, age and other details of the case were not immediately available, said Sue McKinney, U.S. Attorney’s Office spokeswoman.
According to court documents, Traxler will have to register as a sex offender and cooperate with the collection of DNA by a probation officer for life.
Special conditions of supervised release that Traxler will have to meet after release from prison are:
No possession of material portraying “sexually explicit conduct” or “child pornography”;
He must participate in mental health treatment available for sexual offenders;
He cannot possess a firearm or other dangerous weapons;
All confidentiality regarding sex offender treatment is waived.
In addition, there are heavy restrictions on his computer use, including no Internet access without a probation officer’s approval apply. A search of computer hardware and files can be performed at any time.
