ALBANY — The Albany Area Chamber of Commerce introduced four new students Tuesday who will serve in the chamber’s Young Ambassador program for a year.
Nicolas Felix and La’Chelle Crowe, both from Albany State University, and Japonica Lewis and Zachery Watson from Albany Technical College were welcomed by chamber President and CEO Catherine Glover, who outlined for the students the importance of the program and the responsibilities of the ambassadors. Two more students, both from Darton College, will be added to the program shortly, Glover said.
The ambassadors-in-training were given blue vests, which they will wear at chamber events they attend.
According to Glover, ambassadors serve the chamber and the community by hosting many of the more than 100 business-related chamber events throughout the year. The events include ribbon-cuttings, grand openings, Rise and Shine breakfasts and others.
