Albany Kids of the ‘70s will be back in town 6 p.m.-1 a.m. Oct. 8 at the Thronateeska Heritage Center.
Adults who were in public or private high school in the Albany area from 1970 to 1980 are being invited to participate in the event, which will include music from “Bonfire” feat and Billy Spires & Eric Hardy.
“This event was created so people could get together and enjoy the ‘70s once again. With any event, there is usually funds leftover from the evening and the organizers have decided to give those funds to benefit our local Easter Seals in Southwest Georgia.” Sal Giovingo.
Participants are encouraged to come dressed in favorite ‘70s style and enjoy some classic favorites — Jimmie’s Hot Dogs, Krystal burgers and Krispy Kreme doughnuts — to get the evening started. Dinner is a choice of barbecue pork or chicken with sides, bread and tea. There will be a cash bar.
Tickets for the event are $25 a person and $50 per couple. No one under the age of 21 will be admitted. Deadline for ticket purchase is Saturday. There will be no tickets purchased at the door.
Make checks payable to: Kids of the ‘70s, 1044 U.S. Hwy 82 West, Leesburg, Ga. 31763. This account is set up at Flint Community Bank.
Come enjoy an evening of good music, food and hang out with old friends.
