Dougherty County EMS care for a motorcylcist Wednesday after a collision with a SUV at the intersection of Pine Avenue and Washington Street.
ALBANY — A motorcyclist and an SUV crashed just after 6:10 p.m. Wednesday on Washington Street at Pine Avenue.
A man identified by friends as Brandon David drove a 2006 black Yamaha with Arizona plates on Washington Street when his bike and a burgundy Chevrolet Tahoe SUV collided at the intersection.
David was taken by Dougherty County EMS to an unspecified hospital. An Albany Police Department officer at the scene said that it was likely David would be cited for using the wrong lane to make a turn.
No information about which vehicle hit the other vehicle first in the crash or which direction the motorcycle was headed was immediately available. The name of the driver of the Tahoe was also not available.
“He (David) was just leaving our meeting,” said Kris Letlow. “We are all in D’town Arts Coalition. We were meeting to put together a show we call ‘Superfancy.’”
According to another D’town Arts Coalition member, Cameron Malphrus, David had been an Arizona resident. He returned to Albany and opened the Heart & Dagger Tattoo Parlour and Fine Arts Gallery at 717 N. Westover Blvd.
