APD reports early morning assault on three women

ALBANY, Ga. — Two armed black men accosted three women in their 60s, fired a shot and fled at about 4:30 a.m. Thursday at C.W. Heath Park, stated an Albany Police Department report.

“Three females were out for their morning walk at C.W. Heath Park when they were approached by two black males,” the report stated. “The suspects walked up behind them and that’s when a physical altercation took place.”

One of the women struck one of the armed men with a stick during the fight, the report indicated. A man fired a shot, but no one was injured. Both men ran to a four door brown sedan without hubcaps and fled in the car, police said.

The car with the suspects was last seen headed north on Maple from the park on the 400 block of Jordan Street.

Phyllis Banks, police spokeswoman described the men as between 18 and 25 years old, wearing white T-shirts with one wearing a dark mask.

Time to take additional steps to assure your own protection. Remember in the Rape Case in Washington DC the Supreme Court ruled Law Enforcement had no obligation to protect you. In essense you can't sue them because it is your responsibility to protect yourself until the Authorities find it convienant to respond. Do what you gotta do to protect yourself and those you care about. A well trained dog is indeed an asset. However, my Father always pointed out the dog was only to distract them long enough for you to reach your chosen means of defense.
