Lewis-Polite wins DCSS Teacher of the Year April 17, 2014

SASSER — Whodini, one of the first hip-hop groups to generate a national following, will perform at 7 p.m. Oct. 8 at the Sasser Flea Market.

The trio of Jalil Hutchins, John “Ecstasy” Fletcher and Drew “Grandmaster Dee” Carter are visiting as part of Terrell County High Schools “Greenwaves Homecoming Tailgate Bash.”

The group will be making their first Southern appearance since 1987.

Music between sets will be provided by DJ VC (Vincent Davis.) Patrons are allowed to bring coolers, grills and lawn chairs to the concert.

Formed in 1981, the group has hit the chart with such singles as “Haunted House of Rock,” “Magic’s Wand” and “Five Minutes of Funk.”

Tickets are $25 for limited advance and $35 otherwise. Tickets may be purchased in advance at the Sasser Flea Market, Da Shop on Main St. in Dawson and Odyssey Records in Albany.
