Ashley Lynn Roberts and Justin Lyn Bentley were married
Saturday, April 16, 2011 at Pinson Memorial United
Methodist Church in Sylvester, Georgia. The Reverend
Dale Thornton of St. Mary’s officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eligah Dice
Roberts of Sylvester. Ashley is the granddaughter of both
the late Mr. George Emory Swindle and Mrs. Margaret
Swindle Darsey and the late John Darsey all of Lakeland,
Georgia and the late Mr. and Mrs. Cager Roberts of
Sylvester.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Lowell
Spurlin of Sylvester and Mr. and Mrs. Mickey Lyn Bentley of
Sumner. Justin is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry
Thornton Veal of Norman Park and the late Johnny Howard
Gray of Sumner and Mrs. Carolyn Suggs Bentley and the
late Mr. Tillman Travis Bentley of Sumner.
The bride was escorted by her father and presented
in marriage by her parents. Close friends and family members
honored Ashley as attendants. Ashley Burch Denton
and Julia Hendrix Steed served as Matrons of Honor and
Sara Elizabeth Ray served as Maid of Honor. Bridesmaids
included Jill Lovein Roberts, Morgan Coley Bentley, Madison
Lindsey Bentley and Sara Ashlyn Morris. Emory Rebecca
Roberts served as the Flower girl. Honorary
Bridesmaids included Joy Coleman Houldridge, Leslie
Maxwell Dunn, Michelle Catherine Rash and Vicky Marie
Ivey.
Father of the groom, Mickey Lyn Bentley, served as
Best Man. Serving as Groomsmen were Thomas Michael
Spurlin, Thomas Lowell “Tuck” Spurlin, Leland Dice
Roberts, Al Dean Gibbs, Ryan Allen McGough, Bryan Scott
Bridges, John Curtis Majeski, Charles Henry Majeski III, Jeremy
Scott Ford and Glen Dale Price Jr.
Wedding music was presented by Rebecca Anderson,
pianist, and Judy Coleman and Loyd Shaw, vocalists. Program
attendants included Savannah and Maggie Ray and
the guestbook was attended by Smith Shaw.
The bride wore a wedding gown of natural and coffee
dupioni silk and lace couture gown by Justin Alexander.
The A-line sleek silhouette gown featured a modified strapless
sweetheart neckline of silk fabric accented by beads
and lace ornaments. Tiny quarter inch buttons adorned
the back of the dress. The waistline was accented with a
wide sash that flowed into a large bow softly draping at the
side of the full skirt that reached the floor length chapel
train. The bride wore a pearl and Swarovski crystal head
piece along with an ivory finger tip angel cut veil which was
adorned with cream pearls and Swarovski crystals along
the edge.
The reception was held at Southern Woods Plantation,
hosted by the bride’s parents immediately following the
six o’clock ceremony. Music was provided by Loose Chain
of Atlanta, Georgia and catering provided by Kay Blalock of
Albany, Georgia. Following a relaxing honeymoon, the couple
resides in Tifton, Georgia.
