ALBANY -- Just in time for budget deliberations, Dougherty County Administrator Richard Crowdis on Monday introduced Martha Hendley as the county's new finance director.
Hendley comes from Brunswick where she worked as finance director and fills a vacancy created when former director Karen Goff transferred to another department.
Crowdis told commissioners Monday that Hendley comes with more than 12 years of experience in the field.
"Looking at her qualifications, I thought she'd be a good fit," Crowdis said.
Hendley said she was eager to get to work.
"I'm looking forward to working with everyone here at the county," Hendley said.
Prior to her work in Brunswick, Hendley had worked at Habersham County and in Crisp County.
Crowdis and his staff have already started the FY2013 budget process, which will culminate when the budget is voted on by the county commission on or before July 1.
Goff announced her plans to transfer to another county department after the budget was completed last year.
