MARINES
Marine Pfc. Jeremy D. Jackson, son of Tammy M. Jackson of Camilla, recently completed the 12 weeks of basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S. C.
NAVY
These individuals from Southwest Georgia or with family in Southwest Georgia have recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.:
Navy Seaman Elizabeth W. Bledsoe, daughter of Robyn R. Conklin of Panama City Beach, Fla., and Robert L. Bledsoe, of Albany. Bledsoe is a 2004 graduate of J. R. Arnold High School of Panama City Beach, Fla.;
Navy Seaman Royrekius C. Roberts, son of Larenda T. Zackery of Albany. Roberts is a 2011 graduate of Westover High School;
Navy Seaman John E. Smith, son of Mattie D. Smith of Americus, Ga. and John E. Smith, of Americus. Smith is a 2003 graduate of Americus High School;
Navy Seaman Joshua D. Valentine, son of Laura S. and Darryl K. Valentine of Albany. Valentine is a 2010 graduate of Westover High School.
PROMOTIONS
Marine Pfc. Edwin B. Rigsby, son of Della M. and Edwin B. Rigsby of Albany, recently completed the Basic Electrician’s Course and was selected academic honor graduate. During the course at Marine Corps Engineer School, Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune, N. C., students receive instruction on safety, electrical theory, generator operation, preventive maintenance and field electrical systems installation. Rigsby is a 2009 graduate of Lee County High School of Leesburg, Ga. and joined the Marine Corps in May 2011.
