MARIETTA -- Frances Ann Plexico Stewart, 92, of Atlanta, passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2012 of congestive heart failure. Mrs. Stewart was born in Plains, Georgia and had lived in Vienna, Albany, and Cuthbert. During World War II, she was in the WAC and served for two years in the Signal Office of the Office of the Military Attache' at the American Embassy in London, England. She worked for nineteen years at Citizens Bank and P.M. Reid Insurance Agency in Cuthbert. In 1972, she moved to Atlanta and was employed by the U.S. Southeast Regional Forest Service until her retirement in 1983.
She is survived by her daughter, Ann Stewart Summer of Atlanta; two sister-in-laws, Evelyn Stewart of Albany, and Peggy Stewart, formerly of Albany; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas R. Stewart of Cuthbert; her parents, Frank Plexico and Minnie Mae Ferguson Plexico of Edison; two brothers, J.F. Plexico and wife, Jeanelle Plexico, of Huntsville, AL, Perry Plexico and wife, Beulah Plexico, of Edison; and a nephew, Larry Douglas Plexico of Huntsville, AL; four brother-in-laws, Manry Stewart and former sister-in-law, Pauline Stewart of Shellman, Ed Stewart and wife, Evelyn Stewart, of Orlando, FL, Henry Stewart of Albany and Fred Stewart of Albany; and son-in-law, J.R. Summer, Sr.
