Sheriff Kevin Sproul addresses the Dougherty County Commission
ALBANY Sheriff Kevin Sproul and Bishop Frederick Williams asked Dougherty County Commissioners Monday to support a planned anti-crime and unity march later this month.
The march, organized by Stop the Violence, is set for April 21.
Stop the Violence is a non-profit community partnership between local government, law enforcement officials and the faith-based community aimed at curbing inner-city violence.
Residents wishing to participate will gather at one of four locations between 9:30 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. on the day of the event. The four locations are: Shacklrford Shopping Center, the Albany Civic Center, the Thronateeska Heritage Center and the 400 block of Pine Avenue.
