MOULTRIE -- Marion Manuel Green, 89, of 142 Paul Murphy Road, Moultrie, died Monday, April 9, 2012 at Unihealth Post Acute Care.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Midway Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in Midway Cemetery. His grandsons will serve as casketbearers.
Born August 19, 1922 in Doerun, he was the son of the late Johnnie Green and Josephine Dawson Green. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was the retired parts manager with Bell-Kennon Tractor Co., with fifty years of service. He was a member of Midway Free Will Baptist Church, where he had served as a Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent and Song Leader.
Survivors include his wife of sixty-six years, Gladys Betty Capps Green of Moultrie; four daughters, Brenda Morris and husband, Henry, of Homosassa, Fla., Wanda Spicer and husband, Robert, of Fitzgerald, Donna Benson and husband, Larry, of Athens and Kathy Potts and husband, Steve, of Funston; one sister, Lillie Evans of Atlanta; seven grandchildren, Edward Sheffield, Richard Sheffield and wife, Dominique, Ron Mathis, Kim Mathis, William Benson and wife, Oonaugh, Reese Benson, Justin Potts and wife, Carmen; several great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service on Thursday at the church.
