201 Patrol Drive, Albany

ALBANY, Ga. -- After midnight Wednesday, Harold Lawrnece heard the knock at the door. He told the men through the door his son "Lil Cap" wasn't home. They opened fire and he was hit in the stomach, according to Albany Police Department reports.

Lawrence, 43, was taken from his 201 Patrol Drive home to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital for emergency medical treatment.

"The suspects are four black males, possibly traveling in a white Lincoln Town Car and a black Ford pickup truck," said Phyllis Banks, APD spokeswoman.

Lawrence never opened the door. He told the men that they should try to call his son on the son's cell phone, the report added. When Lawrence peered out through the peephole, the gunmen opened fire, striking him in the stomach, the report stated.

Lawrence's wife, Shameka, was also at home, but she was uninjured, the report stated.

Anyone with additional information should call Crime Stoppers at (229) 436-TIPS (8477) or investigations at (229) 431-3288. The Spanish speaking APD-COP Tip Line is (229) 434-2677.

If people would live with some sense of normality, things like this would not happen. Normal people who work for a living go home and have a meal and time with their families and then go to bed at a decent hour. These black people did not have any right to shoot through the man's door and cause injury to an innocent man. I don't understand why people prowl at night and cause harm to others. Thugs need to go home and live your own lives and leave others alone. Get a real life that is morally good and decent.

tocar you're right but then again that requries that they be tough enough to work 5 days a week and commit themselves to one woman and be responsible for their progeny.

Well, tocar, if folks did as you suggested they wouldn't be thugs so who would serve as the bad role model for children?

Nah, it was black men that shot him. That is of no concern to Jesse, Al and the Black Panthers.
