ALBANY, Ga. — After midnight Wednesday, Harold Lawrnece heard the knock at the door. He told the men through the door his son “Lil Cap” wasn’t home. They opened fire and he was hit in the stomach, according to Albany Police Department reports.
Lawrence, 43, was taken from his 201 Patrol Drive home to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital for emergency medical treatment.
“The suspects are four black males, possibly traveling in a white Lincoln Town Car and a black Ford pickup truck,” said Phyllis Banks, APD spokeswoman.
Lawrence never opened the door. He told the men that they should try to call his son on the son’s cell phone, the report added. When Lawrence peered out through the peephole, the gunmen opened fire, striking him in the stomach, the report stated.
Lawrence’s wife, Shameka, was also at home, but she was uninjured, the report stated.
