CAMILLA, Ga. — Brandon Luckey, 24, a former Meigs police officer, pleaded guilty to statutory rape of a 13-year-old child and was sentenced to two 20-year terms in prison Wednesday, stated a Mitchell County court official. The sentences are concurrent, she added.
After Luckey was arrested Sept. 10 he was fired from the police department. Thomas County also indicted Luckey for statutory rape, the court official said. Luckey’s trial in Thomas County is pending, he added. Meigs is located at the Mitchell and Thomas County line.
