Archbold Medical to open new tower

THOMASVILLE, Ga. — Archbold Medical Center in Thomasville is hosting a public dedication and open house for its new North Tower.

The event, set for 1:30 p.m. Sunday, will formally introduce the eight-story, 247,000-square-foot addition to the hospital. U.S. Sen. Saxby Chambliss, R-Moultrie, is expected to speak at the event.

Attendees will be treated to a guided tour of the brand new facility, including the new emergency department, surgery department and 114 new private patient rooms including a new intensive care unit and intermediate care unit.

The tower, which officials say represents a $125 million investment, is located on the Mimosa Drive side of the hospital. The public dedication will take place in the new emergency department lobby, also on Mimosa Drive. Parking will be available in Archbold’s East Tower, ambulatory care center and Singletary Oncology Center parking lots.

Archbold Hospital is a nice facility. It is always so clean and the employees are kind and considerate. The tower is something to be excited about and will be an asset to the hospital.

It is the most beautiful hospital I have ever seen. It looks like a beach front resort. Im sure the facility is run by wonderful management and staff. I hope phoebe never takes it over. I have always said if I get really sick, I would do my best to go there for treatment.

My guess would be that taking this outfit over is in Phoebe's 10-year Strategic Plan. They don't want to own everything, just the next three or four things in the ever-expanding radius of their control.
