CAMILLA -- Dr. Newton P. Eunice, 63, of Pelham, died Friday, April 13, 2012 at Mitchell County Hospital in Camilla.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 16, 2012 at Hand Memorial United Methodist Church in Pelham with interment in Pinecrest Memory Gardens with military honors. Dr. Russ Elkins, Rev. Michael Finn, and Rev. Andy Frazier will officiate.

Active pallbearers will include the nephews, William Dryden, Jr., Dr. John Seasholtz II, Grant Seasholtz II, Ivan Keith Seasholtz, Conrad E. Seasholtz, and Dr. Clark Barrett. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles White, Randy Covington, the Pelham Rotary Club members, and the Methodist Men's Group.

Born October 3, 1948 in Waycross, Dr. Eunice was the son of the late Cecil M. Eunice, Sr. and Commie Pafford Eunice. He was preceded in death by a brother, Frank W. Buchanan. Dr. Eunice was a veterinarian and owner and operator of Mitchell County Animal Clinic. He was a member of Hand Memorial United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the Methodist Men's Group and an ordained lay speaker. Dr. Eunice was an active member of the Pelham Rotary Club where he had 25 years of perfect attendance, before he became ill in May. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia School of Veterinary Medicine and a veteran of the U. S. Air Force.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Thames Eunice of Pelham; one son, Frank P. Eunice and wife, Amy, of Roswell; one sister, Marion Seasholtz (Dr. John) of Jennings, FL; one brother, Steve Eunice (Verdie Lee) of Blackshear; his mother-in-law, Mary Ann Thames of Waycross; a sister-in-law, Pat Dryden (Henry) of Woodstock; two brothers-in-law, Butch Thames (Jan) of Pelham and Bruce Thames (Susan) of Madison, FL; two grandsons, Dayton Eunice and Brendan Eunice; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Sunday, April 15, 2012 at Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home in Camilla.
