Ruby Allyne Newell Weaver

BLAKELY -- Mrs. Ruby Allyne Newell Weaver, 67, known by her family and friends as "Riki", died peacefully in her sleep Friday morning, April 13, 2012. Her funeral will be held Monday morning, April 16, 2012 at 11 AM at the First Freewill Baptist Church in Blakely with Rev. Fred Hersey officiating. Visitation will begin Monday morning at 9:30 AM and last until 10:45 AM in the Sanctuary. The interment will be Monday afternoon at 3 PM in the Crown Hill Cemetery in Albany with Rev. Stan Glass and Rev. Mike Lawson officiating. Pallbearers in Blakely will be Jeff Johnson, Cal Weaver, Bruce Singleton, Brad Lambert, Charles English and Wayne Goocher, Jr. Pallbearers in Albany will be Charlie Jones, Rodney Cook, Albert Austin, Jimmy Wages and Jason Littleton.

Riki Newell-Weaver was born December 19, 1944 in Lithonia, GA to the late Louie F. and Lola Frances Lunsden Bowers. She was a retired employee in the accounting department for Wal-Mart and a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church in Blakely. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Lee Ernest Newell and by two sons, Dwain and Andy Newell.

Her survivors include her husband, Jimmy Hugh Weaver- Blakely, GA; three sons, Shannon Newell and his wife, Stefanie, Warwick, GA, Cal Weaver, Cuthbert, GA and Tracy Weaver and his wife, Lisa, Blakely, GA. There is one daughter, Dana Singleton and her husband, Bruce, Blakely, GA and eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. There is a brother, Louie F. (Blacky) Bowers of Lithonia, GA and a sister, Barbara Sexton of Carrabelle, FL.
