ALBANY — A person of interest has been identified in connection to a homicide investigation stemming from a man found dead in a wooded area on April 4.
Monquez Taray Jackson, 22, also known as “Quez,” is wanted for questioning in connection to the death of Anthony Westbrook, officials with the Albany Police Department said Monday.
Westbrook, 52, was found dead in a wooded area off of the 1800 block of Westtown Road with a gunshot wound to the head, authorities say. He was discovered nude, face down on a mattress.
Officials said detectives have received a number of tips and leads over the course of the investigation, and that the information they have obtained has assisted with developing Jackson as a person of interest in the case.
Sade Britt, 26, was arrested in connection to the slaying last week. She was identified as the one in an SB&T surveillance video who drove Westbrook’s Kia Rondo to the bank’s ATM machine and attempted to use the deceased man’s card.
The vehicle was found on April 6 at 1490 Palmyra Road.
Anyone with additional information on the case, including Jackson’s whereabouts, are encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at (229) 436- TIPS (8477).
