ALBANY, Ga. — Missouri-based Adco Cleaning Products LLC, purchased in December by Equinox Chemicals, has been relocated to Albany, according to company officials.
Adco is a manufacturer of dry-cleaning, commercial laundry and institutional cleaning products now housed in the Equinox building at 1909 W. Oakridge Drive.
Included in the purchase was Squibco Solutions, a seller of portable dry-cleaning systems intended to allow individuals to operate their own onsite drapery and fabric cleaning businesses. Squibco has been renamed Adco Onsite Fabricare, acording to the company, and placed under the directorship of Catherine Glover, executive vice president of global affairs for Equinox.
According to Equinox CEO Mark Grimaldi, Glover is expected to revitalize, rebrand and create new market channels, both nationally and internationally for the new company and to ensure exponential growth.
The education arm of the former Squibco, now named Adco Onsite Fabricare Institute, has been moved from Norcross to 1000 Pecan Grove in Albany. The primary purpose of that company is to provide a three-day course in professional cleaning techniques and procedures for those who have purchased Fabricare cleaning systems.
According to Grimaldi, the training facility will be headed by Jeff Berkowitz, senior certified fabricare specialist. Glover called Berkowitz the “ideal person” to oversee Fabricare’s education department, based on his 30 years experience as a cleaning professional.
