Bikefest to benefit kids Saturday

ALBANY, Ga. — A local biker group will host a family-friendly community event downtown Saturday, officials say.

Another Level Motorcycle Club will host a poker run to benefit the March of Dimes and host a communitywide event Saturday at the Veterans Park Amphitheatre.

Registration for the poker run will start at 8 a.m. Saturday morning with the run set to begin at 9 a.m.

Community events will start and vendors will open up at 10 a.m. and stay until 2 p.m., officials say.

Another Level founder Shelby Daniels said the event is meant to provide the community with something that is wholesome and entertaining.

“It’s something we do for the community,” Daniels said. “We need some things to bring everyone together, and we think this will help. We’ll have vendors on site, and we’ll have first responders — our firefighters and police — there. It’s just going to be a good time.”

Daniels said the group will also be giving bicycles to children who attend.

“We’ve got everything set up; we just need the community come out and enjoy it,” he said.
