ALBANY -- Brother Rawlins Nelson Browner affectionately known as "R. B", "Pop Corn", and "Pa Pa" began his earthly journey on March 7, 1941 to the late Johnny West Browner and Earlie B. Nelson Whitfield in Dawson, Terrell County, Georgia. Rawlins was reared by his uncle and aunt in Dawson the late Charlie and Bertha Lou Ellington as their son.
Rawlins accepted Christ at and early age and join Atoc A.M.E Church in Dawson. He later became a member of Christ Harvest Baptist Church under leadership of Pastor B. L. Richardson. Rawlins was a faithful member of the Greater New Morning Star Baptist Church under leadership of his wife and son. He was a 1960 graduate of George Washington Carver High in Dawson, GA.
Rawlins worked for many years with South Eastern Distribution Company, he also worked for many years as a waiter with Hans, Double Gate and Stones Bridge Country Clubs. In his later years he worked a delivery driver for Krispy Kreme Doughnuts and Albany ARC as a house parent. Rawlins was a joy to be around and could always make you laugh without even trying. He Loved life and he loved his family. His grandchildren were the joy of his life as well as he was theirs.
Rawlins took his flight from this life to be forever with the Lord on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
He leaves to mourn and cherish his memories a caring, loving, and devoted wife of 37 years Rev. Janice S. Browner; eleven children Reginald Harden of Miami, FL, Rosalyn B. Hunter and Reginald K. Browner, both of Columbus, GA, Kirk A. (Jackie) Browner of Louisville, KY, Felicia B. (Dwayne) Baker of Conyers, GA, McKesia B. (Rev. Patrick) Hester of Suffolk, VA, Constance M. (Darin) Lewis of Covington, GA, Trina B. (Mike) Cassell, Pastor McKebia D. Bray, Sr. and Titorious M. (Mary) Bray all of Albany, Arthur F. (Tasha) Bray of McDonough, GA. One son who precedes him in death Antron M. Williams. A grandson raised as his own Rawlins Carrington Bray of Clear Water, FL, a loving niece raised in his home, Maegan W. (Dayron) Killebrew of Memphis, TN, fifteen grandchildren, Courtney Browner-Harrell and Artasia Lowe, both of Albany, Cha' Karia and Nakia Browner, both of Birmingham, AL, Madison and Ryan Browner, both of Louisville, KY, McKesia B. (Javon) Hutchinson and McKebia D. Bray, Jr. both of Decatur, GA, Larry N. Hunter of Conyers, GA, NyKeria Bray of Cordele, GA and Keiana Hester of Suffolk, VA. His Mother -in- Law, Ozzie R. Seay; four brother and sister-in-laws, Minster Queen B. Lumpkin, Lavonne (Sammie) Pollard, Kay B. (Kenny) McCray, all of Albany, GA and Johnny C. (Joyce) Seay of Jacksonville, FL. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be conducted today, Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Greater Grace Church of God In Christ, 205 S. Westover Blvd. Interment will follow in Union Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 3403 Plantation Drive.
