MOULTRIE -- Jackie Lamar Pate, 72, of Moultrie died on April 28, 2012 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at Baker Funeral Home on May 1, 2012 at 10 a.m. with interment at Crown Hill Cemetery in Albany. The Rev. Robby Brooks will officiate. Serving as casketbearers will be Landon Pate, John and James Scharnikow, Mark Stalvey, Darrell Kimbrell, and Jonathan Dismuke.

Mr. Pate was born on April 21, 1940 in Thomas County to the late Emerage Clifford Pate and Idell Cooper Pate. He was a graduate of Pavo HS Class of 1958 where he was Senior Class President. He was the retired co-owner of Moultrie Post Form. He was a big fan of the Moultrie Packers and was a member of the Boys Basketball Team.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Margie McMullen Pate; a brother, Bo Pate; a sister, Claire Mosley; and a daughter, Krista Pate.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Sprayberry Pate of Moultrie; sons: Greg Pate and wife Wendy of Leesburg, Chad Pate of Leesburg, and step-son Darrell Kimbrell of Moultrie; daughters: Kimberlynn Curles and husband Wayne of Purceville, VA and Michelle Scharnikow and husband John of Leesburg; a sister, Lona McNeil of Opelika, AL; grandchildren: Brittany Pate Stalvey (Mark) of Leesburg, Landon Pate of Atlanta, John Scharnikow, Jr. of Americus, James Scharnikow of Atlanta, McKenzie Curles of Purceville, VA, Campbell Curles of Purceville, VA, Evan Pate of Leesburg, Caroline Curles, Kathryn Curles, Wayne Curles, II all of Purceville, VA; great-grandchildren, Mayson and Marley Stalvey of Leesburg.
