ALBANY -- An armed robbery at a convenience store on Cordele Road and a pair of aggravated assaults are among the incidents the Albany Police Department responded to through the weekend and into Monday morning, reports show.
The armed robbery took place at 310 Cordele Road, the site of the Pilot gas station, sometime between 1:15 a.m. and 1:40 a.m. Monday, according to reports.
In that case, officials say police responded a report of the robbery of a person. Officers said Shane Griffin stated that he was approached by an unknown female.
Police said Shane told them the woman pulled a handgun, pointed it at him and told him to give her all of his money. Once she got cash from him, reports said she left in an unknown direction in a black Ford Taurus.
Also involving a firearm was an aggravated assault that was reported to have taken place between 2 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Saturday at 912 Moultrie Road, the site of Clark ServiceCenter.
Reports indicate that someone pointed a gun at another person during the course of that incident. No other information was available Monday evening.
In the morning hours of Saturday, there was an aggravated assault reported at 840 W. Oglethorpe Blvd. -- the location of Regent Motel -- between 1 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., according to reports. Information about that incident also was not available Monday evening.
