PELHAM -- Esther I. Thomson, 94, of Cotton died on August 1, 2012 at Camilla Retirement Village. Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church of Pelham on Saturday, August 4,2012 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Ricky Griner officiating. Interment will be at Pelham City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Steve Morrell, Joe B. Glenn, Larry Taylor, John Glenn, Gene Autry, and Woody Eubanks. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Rotary Club of Pelham, the Sunshine Sunday School Class of the First Baptist Church of Pelham and the Cotton Homemakers Club. Visitation will be Saturday, August 4,2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the social hall of the First Baptist Church of Pelham.

Mrs. Thomson was born June 28,1918 in Barney, GA to S. O. and Maude Melton Ingram. She was the wife of the late Albert D. Thomson. She was a retired educator of 36 years for the Mitchell County School System where she served as teacher and principal and a member of the First Baptist Church of Pelham . She was also a member of the Sunshine Sunday School Class, Cotton Homemakers Club, Rotary Club of Pelham of which she was a Paul Harris Fellow, Golden Age Club of the First Baptist Church of Pelham, a generous benefactor of many charities and founded the Albert & Esther Thomson Scholarship Fund for Southwest Georgia Technical College and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. In addition to her parents and second husband she was preceded in death by her first husband Harrell B. King, a brother, Chesley Ingram, and her twin sister Ethel Ingram DuBose and her sister Ruby Kate Ingram.

She is survived by her nieces: Dale DuBose James and husband, Don, of Waycross, GA and Sandra DuBose Oxford and husband, Doug, of Whittier, NC; Two great nieces, one great nephew; Two great great nieces and three great great nephews.
