DAWSON -- Mary Elizabeth Street Ewin, 75, of Bronwood, died on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at the Willson Hospice House in Albany. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, August 4, 2012 at Harvey Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jan Conner and Rev. Brooks Partain, officiating. Interment will follow in the Bronwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. prior to the funeral service.

Mary was born October 28, 1936 in Albany, Georgia, daughter of the late Luther Leroy Street and Lillie Mae Findley Street. She graduated from Albany High School in 1955 and attended Perry Business School. She lived in Albany most of her life until she moved to Bronwood in l995.

She was an administrator and worked in the Terrell County Probate Court Office in Dawson before she retired.

Mary was a member of the First Baptist Church of Albany, and also attended the Bronwood Baptist and Methodist Churches.

She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and an awesome grandmother, who was affectionately called "Mamie" by her grandchildren. She enjoyed working in her yard, caring for her flowers, and feeding the birds and squirrels. She was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. She was a great cook, and enjoyed spending time at Mexico Beach, Florida with her family and loved being able to help people and care for the needy in the community.

Survivors include her loving husband of 54 years, Charles E. Ewin of Bronwood, two daughters, Sandra Lee Ewin Nichols and her husband, Al, of Bronwood. Mary Kathryn Ewin Helmers Setliff and her husband, Wayne of Slidell, LA, three grandchildren, Christopher Corey Nichols of Atlanta, Jordan Ashley Nichols of Leesburg, and Olivia Kathryn Helmers of Slidell, LA.
