Squawk of the Day - August 4, 2012

"Until this election year, President Obama said he believed marriage was between a man and a woman. Now the owner of a famous restaurant chain says the same, and the gay people want to boycott the business. Is free speech appropriate for liberals only?"

Yes, but His Royal Majesty Barack Obama has "evolved" on the subject. Translation: Emperor Obama's margin of victory this November might depend on a fraction of a percentage point from Gays who will vote for him based on this "change of heart".

But I'd rather eat Spicy chicken Chick-Fil-A's in a Free Country. So...NO, I will vote for Whomever runs against Emperor Obama.

Read George Orwell's "1984"? Definition of "Tolerance" = Speaking only the Politically Acceptable Opinions. WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Forget the religions aspect of this. Stand on the side of FREEDOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's what this Country was founded on! Otherwise, go to Canada or Mexico or some other second-rate country.

Better yet, go to Iran or Iraq or Syria and stand in the middle of the street and spout your "opinion". Yes, that's an attack helicopter drawing a bead on your forehead. Bye!

You stand on the side of freedom, but you are against gay people being free to marry? How about gay people are free to marry, straight people are free to marry, and those who don't care to marry anyone at all are free to do that as well. As it stands this country is currently more free for straight people than it is for gay people. As someone who stands on the side of freedom, I'm sure this would be agreeable to you.

Why do you call the President "His Royal Majesty" and "Emperor" ?

You must have had a bad night as you seem a little off.

Because Obuma seems to think of himself as a King of the world, or at least that is how Sister Ruby sees it.

Sister_Ruby 2 years, 1 month ago

Because He feels He can do absolutely anything He wishes to in complete disregard of the United States Constitution. Hence, He sees Himself as a Monarch rather than One of Three Branches of Government. That's why.

I agree with you 100% Sister Ruby. President Jackass said he changed thinking because his daughter showed him "how wrong" he was. Funny it came in an election year. I,too, will vote for ANYONE who runs against President Jackass. The last time I checked, free dom of speech was for ALL AMERICANS; not just one class, group or the politically correct. I like Chick Fil A nuggets.

Who is denying your freedom of speech? Or Mr. Cathy's for that matter? This is a strawman argument with no merit. No one's free speech has been curtailed.

If Obama is Muslim, and I believe that he is. Does he drink alcohol? Does he go to church? Does he participate in any Christian activities. See for yourself. Like I have said, by 2040 we will have more Muslims in USA than Christians, so get ready. I am going to say it like Bill Cosby, I am glad I am at the end of my life, not the beginning. Do you think gays will have any rights under Muslims? Guess again! Remember how Carter use to waffle, must be a sign of a Democrat. Obama has a hidden agenda and it is not in the best interest of the average American of any race.

When I was stationed here in the '60s EVERYONE was a democrat. There was no republican party. Black people didn't vote or run for office and they didn't have much of anything. Now, if you look at who is a republican, back then they would have had a sheet suit in the closet.

Freedom of speech, is freedom from governmental involvement in sanctioning, or condeming that speech. It has nothing to do with whether you or I have to agree with what is being said or not. We have our basic human right to do what is legal as a result of what we feel about certain speech. This rule has been corrupted by the Courts interpretation of what was written. For it does not reflect the simple truth of what was written.

The Federalist papers are a collection of letters, flyers, newspaper articles etc. written by the founders that clarifies the meaning of the sparse language of our constitution. If you want to know what was meant by a section of the constitution find the relavent sections of the papers. Only a natural born citizen can be President so says the constitution. Look it up in the papers and you see that natural born citizen is one whose parents were both citizens of the United States. There is a case before the supremes right now to determine whether the mistake in the white complies with that. Freedom of speech has NO restrictions. You can do that when most people have sense and are responsible for their own actions. The courts corrupt the constitution because it gives them power that they were never intended to have.

So newspaper articles and flyers are to be considered just as viable as congressional legislation. I would take exception to that. Have you actually read some of the garbage the NY Times prints? Furthermore, the Federalist papers were never meant to be legislation nor would you want them to be, at least I don't think you would. For instance, in Federalist #10 James Madison argued in favor of a strong, large republic (federal govt.) as opposed to strong smaller republics (the individual states). He further spoke on the importance of that strong republic being important in guarding against groups of citizens promoting interests which would dimish the rights of other citizens.

Let's face it, Obama was elected based on a plethora of lies. So much for "cutting the deficit in half" and "most transparent admin in history." Then, he surrounded himself with dozens of liars, crooks and thieves. He has attended over 160 fund raisers this year without meeting with the Jobs Council one single time. All he is worried about right now is HIS job and I think he and the Dems (facilitated by the liberal media) have proven they will do anything to ensure his re-election. See Harry Reid's totally unfounded accusation that Romney has not paid taxes in 10 years!

There are many more BHO vote pandering lies that would be too long to list. Last night there was a story about Obama's lies that he would keep NASA open and remain strong in space exploration. After the election, his statement meant nothing. Obama and his admin can not be trusted to do anything that is promised.

NASA isn't closing....people confuse the shuttle program with NASA and just space....the space shuttle program closed. The space shuttle made its last flight this year and was retired. I think it was the Endeavor but not sure.......NASA is staying open...the international space station is still open...one of my nephews works for NASA and is with the international space station. Another works at NASA in Virginia and one works for the Langley Research Center which is part of NASA, as a tech. He travels all over the world with National Geographic and helps make the TV programs you see about the NASA. I promise you, NASA is not closing. My first job was with NASA at Langley in 1961 and they were around a long time before then. They do a lot of research at Langley, not just space stuff...more than you can imagine.

Thanks for the clarification. I was not meaning to imply that NASA was closing, but as you stated the space shuttle program for space exploration. The story implied the USA is using Russia for space transportation which is not what Obama promised before the election.

Every President that this country has elected since the first have all had some sort of nasty individual in the background, told lies, ect. ect. So like what is the big to do here, we all shout for the one we voted for and cuss the other guy. Forget about accusations, he said she said, that happens every day. So try to enjoy life.

Thank you Sister Ruby. You are right on point and if they want to do their thing, then do as the rest of the nation and keep it in private. The owner of Chick-Fil-A has his opinion and that ends this. If they come back, then charge them with trespassing and arrest the whole lot of them. Being as we are today, a Free Country, we do have our right to opinions.

What they ought to do is turn the irrigation system on.

Whether gays have any freedom is not the point of this squawk. The point being made is Obuma is flip flopping his views just to make the gays think he is on their side to get their votes. I am not saying a person doesn't have the right to change their views, but it isn't hard to see this is just a ploy to get the gay vote. If any gay person thinks Obuma supports them, then I have an island resort on the moon I can sell you real cheap.

2

bigbob 2 years, 1 month ago

Flip flopping, making millions of illegals citizens, that looser obumma would sell his kids for votes.
