That's always how I've felt, too. Got nothing to hide? Then you got nothing to worry about.

1

waltspecht 1 year, 12 months ago

Plus, it is taking those that aren't following the rules off the road. If it were enforced enough, we might get a reduction in our uninsured motorist payments. I can think of at least twenty people that have been hit by an uninsured, unlicensed motorist in the last ten years. I would imagine the numbers are far greater than that. One has but to look at the Police Blotter to see how many are caught each week, even without the new checker.

1

rightasrain 1 year, 11 months ago

If everyone who weren't following the "rules of the road" were taken "off the road" there wouldn't be any minorities or mexicans "on the road"!

1

willie 1 year, 11 months ago

I guess you would be on the road to nowhere all alone.

0

LGadson 1 year, 11 months ago

Careful Yellow Brick Road! Because if you shook your family tree just a LITTLE hard, there's no telling who you'd be walking with!!

0

chinaberry25 1 year, 12 months ago

I think this is the best thing since sliced bread. Albany get ready for some generated revenue. Will get some of the thugs off of the street too.

0

MisterEd 1 year, 12 months ago

Exactly. I've always felt the same way about drug testing. If you aren't doing illegal drugs, what is the big deal about being tested for your employment?

0

LuLu 1 year, 11 months ago

Or to receive welfare or unemployment benefits?

0

bigbob 1 year, 12 months ago

Running tags is a great idea, just like drug testing welfare recepients would be a great idea.

0

FryarTuk 1 year, 12 months ago

No a better idea is to stop welfare. Stop corporate and rich man welfare and stop won't work-man welfare. Write in Ron Paul for President.

0

Sister_Ruby 1 year, 11 months ago

Tuck, PLEASE don't make the same mistake that gave us 8 years of Bill Clinton. It's not worth it just to "make a statement". That statement is "I'm stupid enough to throw my vote away and give Obama 4 more years".

2

FryarTuk 1 year, 11 months ago

Sis, there is no difference in Obama and Romney. Dim the lights and you can't tell one from the other. People supporting either one of the fellows are so stupid they can't pour urine out of their boots. Romney is the only elected official to successfully give us Obamacare. When he went to Europe he visited 3 countries with socialized medicine and spent more time praising their delivery of healthcare than anything else. Oh, with the possible exception when insulting Great Britain and the money culture of the Jews. Between this guy humping our allies and Obama bowing down to the Saudi royal you are hard pressed to find a better. Ron Paul for president.

0

agirl_25 1 year, 11 months ago

Fryar....my Dad always said....."they can't pour urine out of their boots.....with the directions printed on the heels" but he didn't say urine as he was an Army fella so you can imagine what he said....tee hee...when he went down the line. My brothers and sisters and I used to laugh and say he sometimes reminded us of the Col.Potter character on the old M.A.S.H. series on TV. Thanks for the memory.

0

bubbasmithredneck 1 year, 12 months ago

I also think rich politicians running for president should reveal their taxes ......

3

Twosons 1 year, 12 months ago

I could care less what Romney, Obama, or any politician does with his own money. I only care about what they do with mine.

2

Sister_Ruby 1 year, 11 months ago

He has met all the requirements of the Law.

0

tywebb 1 year, 11 months ago

i think it should be illegal for ALL poiticians to lock their educational records so the public can't see them. I also think any politician who listens to a racist preacher for over 20 years and hangs with known terrorists be banned from taking office. Looks like neither of us will get what we want!

1

guardian 1 year, 11 months ago

And their birth certificates.

0

TheMember 1 year, 11 months ago

I think we should go back to our American values and require all who want to be President be an American citizen. It didn't work very good this time. Also, I would hide my money if I had millions, because the tax system sucks. Romney will fix it and then he will bring it back to the US along with trillions of other dollars.

0

stc1993 1 year, 11 months ago

How about obummer releasing his. He ran part of his campaign on an open government, another one of his big lies. Just the same as Bush, he hasn't changed anything that I've seen. He promised to close Guantanamo it's still open last I heard.

0

Clif 1 year, 12 months ago

Likewise, if you plan to vote only once, and stay within the law, why would you object to showing a picture id to vote?

0

FryarTuk 1 year, 12 months ago

Because there is no need for a personal id. It is designed to keep the elderly who fought in WWII from voting. The only current voter fraud is in absentee voting and that is completely ignored by the voting law designed to stop fraud. Wonder why? Fewer laws are better. Vote for Ron Paul.

You will piss away one vote. Might as well vote for Obama. If you know that then you are a fool.

1

FryarTuk 1 year, 11 months ago

Well, they delete my response. But if you think there is any difference between Obama and ORomney you don't have dung for brains.

0

ontario1966 1 year, 12 months ago

The Tag Reader are great! I'm glad APD has them! I wish every police car and sheriff has that system, I'm all for it. If you have nothing to hide than why worry? And if your worried, well fix the problem or don't drive, it's that simple!!

0

USTPC 1 year, 12 months ago

I cannot argue with any of the logic in support of the new tag reader. I do not care if you read my tag or not because I have nothing to hide. However, I do wonder if this takes us one step closer to "1984" becoming a reality where everything we do and everything we say is monitored whether we are law abiding citizens or not. Just a thought.

2

Shinedownfan 1 year, 11 months ago

I really need to read that book...

0

Sister_Ruby 1 year, 11 months ago

Read these in this order: "Animal Farm", "1984" (both by George Orwell), then "We The Living" and "Atlas Shrugged" by Ayn Rand. "We The Living" is Rand's semi-autobiographical novel about her growing up in Soviet Russia at the time the Communists took over. "Atlas Shrugged", at just shy of 1,200 pages, is a novel that illustrates her philosophical view of life. You will recognize much in it, spoken by the "bad guys" in the story, that you will hear from liberal politicians and liberal media today. Enjoy!

1

FryarTuk 1 year, 11 months ago

If you're going to read Ayn Rand start out with The Fountain Head you moron. It might help to do some research on objectivism. Ayn Rand was a chainsmoking fiction writer who railed against government advisory of tobacco use, social security and medicare but wound up grabbing all of the government bennies when she got sick and old. In short, like most of the tea party pansies, whe was a hypocrite. Enjoy!

0

Sister_Ruby 1 year, 11 months ago

The Fountainhead is just a shorter, much less interesting version of her philosophy. I don't agree with all of it but there's a lot of it that is relevant to today's 'collectivism" at work.

0

whattheheck 1 year, 11 months ago

If we can catch 'em this way, I am good with it. Book 'em Dano!

0

MRKIA 1 year, 11 months ago

THE TAG READER ONLY RESPONDS TO INFORMATION LOADED INTO IT'S DATA BASE. IT WILL ONLY LOOK FOR WHAT YOU TELL IT. ROOM FOR PLENTY OF MISTAKES THOUGH.

0

TRUTH101 1 year, 11 months ago

it is a good idea but it most be done in an unbias manner...... If it is truly done randomly I shouldnt see only white people or only females being checked.....

1

bubbavet 1 year, 11 months ago

I don't mind my tag being ran, but GIGO( garbage in garbage out) if there is a mistake you still go to jail until they clear it. Hours are like days in holding until it is cleared and not even an I'm sorry. Been there!!

0

bubbavet 1 year, 11 months ago

I forgot to mention " If you haven't done anything wrong you don't have anything to worry about" That's a crock they all say. Believe it or not there are a lot of innocent people in jail.

0

rightasrain 1 year, 11 months ago

Guilty until YOU prove your innocent; that's the way it works around here.

0

Cartman 1 year, 11 months ago

I don't agree with the "didn't do wrong - then don't worry about it" philosphy. In a free country, I do resent my home or car being searched for insufficient probable cause. I have quit flying commercial due to the ridiculous intrusions of TSA screeners. I feel that the TSA and Homeland Security should be defunded. However, your car's license plate is in plain sight. APD is not intruding or detaining you when they scan and run your plate number. I don't have a problem with it.

1

agirl_25 1 year, 11 months ago

What ridiculous intrusions at TSA screenings? I go thru the screening with no problems. I never had a problem and don't understand the complaints that I see all the time. I did get a tsk tsk last time I went thru Customs because my small bottle of hand sanitizer was not in a small plastic baggie so the official in Customs put it in one for me but that was not TSA.

0

Cartman 1 year, 11 months ago

Taking off shoes. Pat downs. Metal detectors. Scans. These are ridiculous in a free society. The only thing more ridiculous is putting metal detectors at courthouses and public schools. Metal detectors protect no one.

1

agirl_25 1 year, 11 months ago

I don't mind..it only is a small inconvenience. Besides if it stopped just one nut from getting on a plane and maybe blowing me up at 40,000 feet then I am glad I went thru the scanner and had to slip off my shoes before I got on the plane. But then I have a Bucket List and maybe that is why my philosophy is "Life is short... don't sweat the petty things, or pet the sweaty things, just enjoy life while you can." I certainly do.

0

Sister_Ruby 1 year, 11 months ago

"pet the sweaty things" ....well that leaves me out then.

0

VSU 1 year, 11 months ago

You must be one of those that has something to hide, probably suspended license or no insurance.

1

waltspecht 1 year, 11 months ago

If the vehicle is empty and parked, how it the heck is that profiling? That is how the big cities get the repeat parking violators. Plus, from the article I read, that is where the police score the stolen vehicles.

1

TheMember 1 year, 11 months ago

On a different note, Lorenzo Heard qualified as an independent to run against Dr, Price at the last minute. I will guarantee you Bush and clan are behind this clown. We must demand to see who is backing him financially. They refuse to lose control, because #34 is shaking in his boots, knowing his term is coming to an end.

1

Shinedownfan 1 year, 11 months ago

Is he one of the black preachers that was backing Williams-Brown?

0

daddyj 1 year, 11 months ago

Running tags for no reason sounds like something Hitler might have done. Next thing you know they will be asking for papers at the different checkpoints around our country.

0

Cartman 1 year, 11 months ago

Where have you been? Ever been through a "license check"?

0

VSU 1 year, 11 months ago

If you've got nothing to hide, then you are okay to ride. Plain & simple!

0

stc1993 1 year, 11 months ago

Maybe it will get some of these uninsured motorist off the road.

0

Sister_Ruby 1 year, 11 months ago

Anybody advocating voting for Ron Paul as a Write-In at this point is a Complete Fool who might as well vote for Obama. We already made that mistake in 1992 and 1996. This time there is A LOT more at stake (like, the FUTURE of the USA maybe??) Did we not learn anything?? In fact, you better go on down to the Obama Re-Election HQ and get started calling people and begging them to vote for Obama.

Life is full of imperfect choices. Make the best one you can and vote for Romney.

0

FryarTuk 1 year, 11 months ago

You are a colonic moron. You fruitcakes put up these choices and then start yelling to select the lesser of the two evils. Romney is the only candidate to give us Obamacare. Then guess what? He starts telling the world how great socialized medicine is in Israel, England and Poland, the three countries he selects to visit on his tour de force. What a real gasser. Are you stupid enough to believe that was a chance selection? If you are concerned about the future or FUTURE of the USA then vote for the only veteran running. Obama and your sissyboy Romney wouldn't fight. In fact Mittens was in France living in a country estate saving the lost. You are a loser, buddy, for signing up with that freak. Vote for Paul Ryan.

1

Sister_Ruby 1 year, 11 months ago

So piss away your vote and prove you're the fool I say you are.
