Police respond to assaults, armed robbery

ALBANY, Ga. — Available reports indicate that two aggravated assaults and a north Albany armed robbery were among the incidents keeping the Albany Police Department busy over the weekend.

One of the aggravated assaults took place at 812 Swift St. just before 4 a.m. on Monday, reports show.

The victim — identified as Tommy Davis, 27 — advised that he and the suspect had been arguing all night, and at some point, she attacked and stabbed him in the left upper biceps with a knife.

The unnamed suspect fled the scene before officers arrived. Davis was treated by emergency medical personnel and released. No arrests had been made as of Monday afternoon, police officials say.

Reports show that the armed robbery took place at 11 p.m. on Saturday. The victim, identified as Rick Barnett, walked to North Slappey Boulevard from the Dollar Inn. As he came up to the roadway, an unknown male approached him from behind, police said.

The victim said the suspect grabbed him and placed a knife in his side. He further stated that the male suspect reached into his pocket and took some cash.

Barnett went on to say that, after robbing him, the suspect cut him in his side and ran across Slappey Boulevard. He reportedly got into a truck and fled the scene.

The case remains under investigation.

The other aggravated assault happened at 9:35 p.m. on Saturday at 1415 W. Highland Ave., according to reports.

Officers responded to the location in reference to a fight. Upon their arrival, the victim reported that he had been attacked with a metal pipe.

The suspect fled the scene, and the victim — identified Levi Manigo — was taken to a hospital for treatment. He reportedly sustained a laceration to his head and a possible broken right arm.

No word on Manigo’s condition was available on Monday afternoon.

If your gonna walk around here at night, have a big dog to slow them down while you pull your licensed weapon.
