ALBANY -- Mrs. Geraldine Benbow Corbett, 70, of Albany went home to be with his Lord on Friday, August 3, 2012 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
Gerry will be dearly missed by so many who will forever rejoice in the life of purpose that she lived. She leaves to carry on her legacy of service her beloved husband of 26 years, Cordell; three devoted daughters, Rhonda Ferguson Lewis (Kevin), Rhoda Ferguson Carter (Robert), and Robin Ferguson Carter (Odell); six beautiful grandchildren, Kevin, Krystal, Erica, Isaiah, Kaleb and Imani; Four adorable great grands, Emmanuel, Aaron, Aiden and Prodigy; Four loving sisters, Maudell Dixon, Laura Evans (William), Essie Swain (Arthur) and Jeanie Carter (Kenny); Three outstanding Brothers, Israel Dell Benbow, Mashan Benbow (Mary), Jackie Benbow (Geassner); three adopted siblings, Steven Holman, Brenda Holman and Voncille Holman; Six Step-children, Vivian, Cynthia, Veronica, Jonathan, Kelvin, Tranice and a host of adored great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins, aunts, uncles, other relatives, sorors, co-workers, church family members and precious friends.
The funeral service will be conducted Saturday, August 11, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Union Missionary Baptist Church, 214 E. Oglethorpe. Interment will follow in the Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery. A wake service will be held on today, Friday, August 10, 2012 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the church. The family will receive friends at 1785 Philema Road.
