ALBANY, Ga. — The aptly-named Hammer Jam, an all-day musical event, will be held in the parking lot of Austin's Fire Grill Saturday from 2:30 p.m. "until," according to Austin Newman, owner of the restaurant.
All proceeds from the $10 admission fee will benefit the Flint River Habitat for Humanity, Newman said, including one of its current projects, the building of a home for a military veteran. The event starts early and goes late so that it can fit into anyone's time schedule, Newman said.
Bands performing at the event will be Roxanne and Ed, Rod Holt and the Fractured Souls, Evergreen Blue Grass, Caylee Anna Hammack Band and Relapse.
Also, a child's playhouse, built by Habitat, will raffled.
"There will be plenty of food and beverage for the all-day event," Newman said. "It's a pretty good deal and it's all to benefit Habitat for Humanity." Austin's Fire Grill is located at 2817 Old Dawson Road.
