BLAKELY -- Mrs. Virginia Cleveland, 76, of 199 Westview Drive, Blakely, Ga., died Thursday afternoon, August 9, 2012 at the Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, Al, following a short illness. Her funeral will be held Sunday, August 12, 2012 at 2 PM at the Westview United Methodist Church with Rev. Jay Reppert officiating. Burial will follow in the Blakely Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Joe Brown, Mike Ellis, Lynwood English, Bill Cleveland, Fred Cleveland, Tom Wright and Dave Cleveland, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie English, Buddy English and Bill English.
Mrs. Cleveland was born August 8, 1936 in Blakely, Ga. to the late Marion Tom English and Winnis Hilton English. She was retired from the Early County School System where she was a para-professional. She was a member of the Westview United Methodist Church, a homemaker and a member of the American Legion Auxillary.
Her survivors include her husband: Wallace Ward Cleveland- Blakely, Ga.; three daughters: Cynthia C. Wright and Tommy of Blakely, Ga., Joy Cleveland of San Diego, Ca. and Wanda C. McCay and Danny of Sautee-Nacoochee, Ga. and one son: Wallace Dave Cleveland and Alice of Newport News, Va. She has three sisters: Ada Lee Odom- Atlanta, Ga., Betty Jo Green- Columbia, Al. and Judy English- Blakely, Ga. and three brothers: Marion (Buddy) English of Blakely, Ga., William (Bill) English of Los Angeles, Ca. and Ronnie English of Blakely, Ga. She was preceded in death, other than by her parents, a sister, Sylvia English. There are six grandchildren: Tom Wright and Maranda- Albany, Ga., Ansley Alexander- Blakely, Ga., Hillary Hansen- Deland, Fl., Dave Cleveland, Jr. and Katie- Washington, D.C., Maressa McCay- Sautee-Nacoochee, Ga. and Alicia Brown and Joe of Enterprise, Al. There are also ten great grandchildren: Ward Wright and Hallie Kay Wright of Albany, Ga.; Noah Hansen and Ansley Hansen of DeLand, Fl., Dixie Brown, Daisy Brown and Joseph Brown all of Enterprise, Al. ; Miles Alexander of Blakely, Ga. and Isabel Cleveland and Savannah Cleveland of Washington, D.C.
