LEESBURG, Ga. — The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is using “mush” to raise funds for Georgia Sheriff’s Association Youth Homes.
LSO will sponsor a co-ed 16-inch softball — widely known as “mushball” — tournament Oct. 13 to benefit GSA Youth Homes. The tournament will be held at the Kinchafoonee Sports Complex in Leesburg.
Cost to participate is $20 per player, and participating teams must contact Daphne Lindsey by Oct. 2 to secure a spot in the tournament.
Mushball — also known as “monsterball” and “clincherball” — is played using typical softball rules, but the balls are bigger and softer. Gloves may or may not be used.
For information or to register a team, contact Lindsey at (229) 759-6052 or (229) 894-3264.
