ALBANY, Ga. — Among the incidents the Albany Police Department responded to Wednesday evening included an armed robbery in Northwest Albany, police reports show. The incident took place just before 10 p.m. on the 700 block of Summit Drive.
The victim, identified as Jason Winchester, reported from another location that, while he was stopped at an unknown intersection in his vehicle, he was approached by a man. The man pointed a gun at him while demanding money, then fled on foot after taking some cash.
The incident remains under investigation.
ALBANY POLICE: The Albany Police Department responded to at least 19 incidents on Wednesday and into the early hours of Thursday, available reports show. The incidents included:
— Disorderly conduct on the 200 block of Slater King Drive and on the 1500 block of North Slappey Boulevard;
— Aggravated battery on the 2500 block of Canterbury Court;
— Domestic dispute (unfounded) on the 700 block of Johnson Road and on the 400 block of Vick Street;
— Simple battery (domestic violence) on the 500 block of Don Cutler Sr. Drive;
— Wanted person on the 300 block of South Harding Street;
— Theft of lost or mislaid property on the 500 block of Don Cutler Sr. Drive;
— Recovered property on the 1700 block of South Jackson Street;
— Probation violation warrant on the 900 block of Edgewood Lane;
— Terroristic threats and acts on the 2000 block of Schilling Avenue;
— Forgery in the 1st degree on the 600 block of North Slappey Boulevard;
— Driving on a suspended license on the 1100 block of West Broad Avenue;
— Rape, address redacted;
— Burglary in the 1st degree on the 200 block of Cordele Road and on the 900 block of Riley Street;
— Criminal damage to property in the 2nd degree on the 500 block of South Jackson Street.
DOUGHERTY POLICE: The Dougherty County Police Department responded to at least 15 calls on Wednesday, available reports show. The incidents included:
— Burglary (attempt) on the 2700 block of Astoria Drive and on the 400 block of Pine Bluff Road;
— Traffic accident (private) on the 2400 block of Liberty Expressway;
— Traffic accident (deer) on the 3000 block of Clark Avenue.
ALBANY FIRE: The Albany Fire Department responded to at least nine calls on Wednesday, available reports show. The incidents included activated alarms and a downed power line.
DOUGHERTY EMS: The Dougherty Emergency Medical Service responded to 57 calls on Wednesday, available reports show. There were a total of 50 medical calls and seven trauma calls.
The majority of the medical calls included eight respiratory issue calls, five chest pain calls, three diabetic issue calls and 25 various medical calls. The trauma calls included five auto accident victims and two falls.
