RICHMOND, MN -- Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 23, 2012 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Richmond, MN for Rolland A. "Rollie" Ramler, age 74, who died Saturday at his home surrounded by his family. Burial will be in the Sts. Peter and Paul Parish Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Wenner Funeral Home in Richmond. Parish Prayers will be at 4:00 p.m. followed by a rosary with Knights of Columbus, Catholic United Financial, and Catholic Order of Foresters. Visitation will continue from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. Thursday morning at the funeral home.
Rollie was born in Farming, MN to George and Loretta (Wieber) Ramler. He married Donna Salzl on November 7, 1959 in St. Martin Catholic Church, St. Martin, MN. Rollie served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He was a police officer in St. Cloud for 27 years. Rollie enjoyed hunting, fishing, and farming. He loved spending time with his family, cheering his grandchildren on in their sporting events, and especially hanging out with them at the lake. He was a member of Knights of Columbus #8303, Catholic United Financial, Catholic Order of Foresters, MN Peace & Police Officers Association, St. Cloud Retirees, and Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church.
Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Donna; children, Cindee (Ron) Cooke, Randy Ramler, Tim (Cindy Loesch) Ramler, and Kerry (Gary) Ward; siblings, Larry Ramler, Linus Ramler, Julie Noll, Romelda Kascht, and Cora Williams; ten grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sylvia Gertken; brother, Vern Ramler, and brother-in-law, Don Noll.
