ALBANY, Ga. — A tip from the Gang Unit to the Albany-Dougherty Drug Unit led to arrests for possession of marijuana as two men tried to elude capture, according to an Albany-Dougherty Drug Unit official.
Brandon Stevens, 27, and Leonard Rodriquez, 26, were charged with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana after their capture before 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, ADDU Maj. Bill Berry said.
Stevens drove a white Mercury Mountaineer and led officers from Oakridge Drive at Slappey Boulevard, where he was spotted with a Styrofoam cup of marijuana, 3 miles to the 700 block of Willie Pitts Jr. Drive, Berry said. Stevens made a turn into the Windover apartment complex and hit a dead end. Officers weren’t far behind and placed the two into custody.
Both men are also charged with tampering with evidence. Stevens is charged with speeding, driving on a suspended license, fleeing and eluding police.
