Shots fired; no one injured

ALBANY, Ga. — Shots fired by two men before 6:30 p.m. Monday left no one injured and one gunman wanted by police, according to an Albany Police Department report.

The report stated that two men argued in front of Smith’s Super Value Store at 1016 S. Harding St. One of the men drew a gun and fired it in the air. The son of the convenience store owner, 48-year-old Julius Smith Jr., who was in the store and not part of the argument, called the gunfire report in to 911, the report added.

Smith left the store, confronted the gunman and became a target when the suspect fired on him, the report stated. Smith pulled his own gun and returned fire. Both men missed, according to the report.

Smith was questioned, but reports stated that no charges were filed by Tuesday

According to the report, the gunman, a 6-foot-tall black man with dreadlocks who weighs about 220 pounds, drove away in a small blue Ford. It could have been an Escort model.
