ALBANY, Ga. -- Albany police responded to at least 55 incidents Tuesday into the early hours of Wednesday, according to available reports. Police responded to incidents including:
-- Missing juvenile on the 900 block of Mercedes Street;
-- Disorderly conduct on the 600 block of Haley Street and the 500 block of Endicott Lane;
-- Thefts by taking on the 100 block of Ford Street, the 400 block of West Tift Avenue and the 1100 block of Gillespie Avenue;
-- Burglaries on the 1300 block of Mercantile Drive, the 1200 block of Gillespie Avenue, the 400 block of Jackson Street, the 2600 block of Erica Court, the 2700 block of Dawson Road, the 1300 block of West Whitney Avenue and the 2300 block of Katy Court;
-- Possession of less than an ounce marijuana on the 600 block of Sands Drive;
-- Entering autos on the 1600 block of Netherland Lane, the 700 block of West First Avenue, the 600 block of Longbow Drive, the 1600 block of Gardner Drive and the 2000 block of East Broad Avenue;
-- Reckless conduct on the first block of Dobbs Drive;
-- Battery on the 300 block of West Highland Avenue and the 400 block of South Harding Street;
-- Motor vehicle thefts on the 300 block of Station Crossing Drive, the 300 block of Jackson Street and the 500 block of North Westover Boulevard;
-- Interfering with a city officer on the 2500 block of Nottingham Way;
-- Assault (domestic) on the 1600 block of Beverly Avenue;
-- Domestic issue on the 600 block of North Residence Avenue;
-- Terroristic threats and acts (domestic) on the 900 block of Odom Avenue and the 1400 block of West Highland Avenue;
-- Battery (domestic) on the 100 block of Front Street and the 600 block of North Residence Avenue;
-- Domestic issues (unfounded) on the 600 block of West Oglethorpe Boulevard, the 400 block of Gaines Avenue and the 300 block of Carriage Lane.
DOUGHERTY POLICE: Dougherty County police responded to at least eight calls Tuesday, according to reports. Police responded to incidents including:
-- Vehicle crash on Newton Road north of Vanderbilt Road;
-- Burglary on the 1700 block of Wildflower Lane;
-- Missing juvenile on the 1500 block of Antioch Road; child located an hour later;
-- Motor vehicle theft, recovered 2003 Toyota Tacoma, on Camellia Road at Radium Springs Road.
DOUGHERTY COUNTY EMS: Dougherty County Emergency Medical Service responded to 80 calls on Tuesday, including 57 medical calls, 22 trauma calls and one Albany Fire Department assist. Medical and trauma calls included, but were not limited to, 10 respiratory issues, five chest pain complaints, four seizure calls, one cardiac arrest, 27 various medical calls, 14 vehicle crash victims and two falls.
ALBANY FIRE DEPARTMENT: The Albany Fire Department responded to 11 incidents Tuesday, including an electrical short in the Radium Springs Elementary School lunchroom that brought firefighters to the school before 1 p.m. Wednesday. The school had been evacuated as a precaution. A lunchroom manager had put the fire out with a dry-chemical extinguisher. Firefighters ventilated the kitchen and isolated the power to a receptacle. The last truck left the school at about 1:30 p.m. Other calls included two cardiac arrest calls, two extricate crash victims from wrecked cars, two active alarms, a bad light ballast, a vehicle crash, fire in a bedroom and a false alarm for gas odor.
